Alicia xoxo
I have just added a 9 week old little girl to my family. I have a 4 year old male. Mason my boy, usually amazing with other dogs. Has started guarding his food and growling very deeply at her. Only when she gets close! He seems almost afraid of her. Is this normal? What can I do? I don't trust him , to even let her down to play. Its really odd behavior for him. Thanks, Alicia
Julieanne
I can't offer any advice sorry, but it's quite normal. We have a 12 year old collie who gets along well with dogs except when it comes to food.
Sarah
First off congrats on your little one I'd let them play together, Kimba guarded his things at first when we got Kaiser as a puppy but we removed toys etc and just let them play together

Alicia xoxo
Well he's okay to see her when she's in her pen . As soon as she's out. He growls and starts to jump towards her.

a7xAda
Hurley is food aggressive towards other animals. I keep the feeding areas separate.
Alicia xoxo
Its not really the food agression I am worried about. He's not accepting her and is acting depressed and withdrawn.
