Rachel-Phoenix
This used to be my favorite picture of Phoenix. I used it everywhere... But it has now been surpassed by this one... I just wish I was able to get my partner's back and my son's leg out of the background.
MidnightPaws
That's an awesome picture!
Julieanne
I'm pretty sure there are people on here who could help you with the background, there both really nice. http://pheditor.com.au/features/ I found this website but you have to pay for the photo's to be edited. Sorry that's really all I could find. I remember one time coming across a photo editor which allowed me to change the background but I can't remember the name of it. Elyse
Phoenix edit.jpg If I may, can I provide some constructive criticism? The edges are too 'solid' and blunt, so if you soften the brush (feather) and go over the edges again you'll find it looks more realistic. It's not that straightforward though is it with a Husky coat? There are individual hairs that stick out beyong the coat so the challenge to keep the hairs in the finished pic but remove the background in between them is a hard one. I have only very basic knowledge of PS. If I were to spend more time on this, I think I'd try to draw in the hairs that end up removed along with background. There must be ways of working with hair that I have no knowledge/experience of.

There must be ways of working with hair that I have no knowledge/experience of. Here's an easy tutorial on how to do it, you may not have to draw in the hairs by hand. I'm testing it out now. http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-editing/selecting-hair/

Helps if you start with a hi-res picture I suppose.

Elyse
Yes, having a high-res image always helps. This is following the instructions of the tutorial. Then, because it looked incredibly unrealistic that the grass was not interacting with Phoenix's leg, I used some grass brushes to try to make it look better.
