Tilly
Hi all just after a little advice,. My 7 month old fuzzy butt beau , when she is sitting on my bed she chews her feet. I worried that she will make her pads sore. She does not do this unless she is on the bed. Thanks xx
Applebear
My yorkie/pom cleans and licks his feet every single night, and has been doing it the entire 14 years of his life. Why, I have no clue...just seems to be a ritual and he too only does it just as he's curling up to go to bed. Long as he's not licking them raw, I see no problem with it. If he did it all the time, I would think it's an allergy of some type, but that's not the case...so whatever floats his boat I guess. lol
Elyse
Suka licks his paws and chews them a little, but he doesn't do it to the point it makes them raw or irritates them...so I let him do it.
Osinn11
Ace also chews his feet. He actuall bites his nails. We haven't seen anything that concerns us so we let him do his thing.
Sarah
i'd worry if the pads became raw or you noticed fur loss but my boys often have a nibble i presume to clean them x
Mazz
Could be an indication of an allergy. What do you feed? Sometimes corn, wheat, or soy in dog food can cause a dog to lick its feet.
Jay
Nikko sometimes puts his paw in his mouth and attempts to chew it, but unless it is causing fur loss or if he has sores I don't think it is something to be too worried about
Jakeo
Agree with others! Just keep an eye on her feet and make sure they're not getting raw (usually white fur turns real reddish brown and pads look irritated). If she is getting raw spots definitely stop her; your vet probably has a topical spray you can use to heal it up
