I rang the place we bought it and told them " no problem he said take it to xyz they do startup specialist OK took it straight in no we have no car Friday Being told the high pressure fuel pump as gone one on order and car should be ready Mon/Tue/Wed Saturday morning missed call 11am, apparently the car is fixed garage shut at 12 and does not open till 9am Monday Sunday..... Mondays here I was there 9am on the dot yeah gonna get it back!!!!!!!!!!! NO its still broke and its not the high pressure fuel pump and its now gotta go to a Diesel specialist so god knows when it will be right or even it it will To say we are not happy is a major understatement

Steve
It's hard to believe that having the windows tinted would have such dire consequences! I was thinking about having mine done, but not any more.

Keeonah
Did this only happen in the cold weather? The reason I ask is that one of those sensors that I was talking about in a previous thread about your car happens to be a temperature sensor which can cause the problems you talk of. Our Freelander has some thing similar on it and when the temp drops below -5, I think, the darn thing won't start. In fact it won't do anything except put lights on the dash. Convector heater under the front for 10 mins and it swings into action like a goodun. Just a thought!!! Gary.

Powell
What kind of car is this? If it were a COLD start, I would put glow plugs at suspect. If it is a warm day, on a " cold" start, a diesel will eventually start, but a good bit of cranking is involved. When I had a VW diesel car the glow plug fuse broke, It was a pain to start. But if it sometimes starts OK and sometimes not, that's a different thing likely.

Powell
Interesting! In the US, if you want a diesel car, it is either VW or Mercedes, but that will change in 2014, and later this year we get a Diesel Chevy Cruze. I miss my 1980 VW Diesel Dasher ( Passat elsewhere), though a dash to 40 MPH, I would have lost to a Siberian Husky team pulling a cart, a sled or scooter. With the AC on a 0 - 60 run was timed by a calendar.
