HuskyGuerl Posted February 27, 2013 Report Share Posted February 27, 2013 So I have had the flu for about three days now and I have had the dogs completly away from me because I dont want them sick..I feel horrible because they not getting my attention but i dont want them sick..Is it possible i can get them sick?? Andy Posted February 27, 2013 Report Share Posted February 27, 2013 It's very rare for humans to infect animals. I've personally never had it happen to me or mine. However if you are feeling ill and really downhearted the dogs can pick up on the change in the emotional tone in the house and be affected by that. Keeonah Posted February 27, 2013 Report Share Posted February 27, 2013 I've had flu around my dogs and they've never caught it, but as Elyse says some diseases are transferable but not sure which ones. CARRINGTON Posted February 27, 2013 Report Share Posted February 27, 2013 It is more likely you are going to get something from your dog such as ringworm, hookworm, giardia, etc. then you are going to give them anything. Elyse has some really good sources to look at. The flu is not something that can be passed from you to your dogs, however, you being stressed will stress them out.
