I smoked for 17 years and quit in October 2011. All I used was nicorette gum and that worked great for me. I chewed the gum for about 3 months and that was all. I thought it would have been much harder to quit but it wasn't too bad. Now every time someone at work goes out to smoke the smell really bothers me. And if I go to a bar that allows smoking I can't stay for long and I have to wash all my clothes when I come back. It was only last year that our state banned smoking but they exempted bars and casinos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

the first time i walked past someone smoking, which was only 3 days after i'd stopped, the smell made me bawk, lol

Emma,i know i couldn't have done it without my e-cig,i would definitely tell your Mum to try them

i order online from a company called Freshcig....delivery is quick, about 2 days and you get a 10% discount thereafter

i suppose they help because you still feel like you are actually smoking, but i started off with the high nicotine and down to the low now and only use it as and when not every day

Good job! I quit using a ecig too....been over a year now. :) For those who are looking at the ecig, remember it is not a quit smoking aide, but more of a 'healthier alternative' to smoking. I started out on a high nicotine level and then gradually worked my way down to zero. I still feel the need for the habit of smoking, so I still use the ecig. Research the brand, as not all ecigs are the same and many find they get one that doesn't work well and they wind up back to smoking. I do still get the urge to smoke at times, but I remind myself I hated the smell and cost. I went from spending 65 bucks a week to 20-30 a MONTH.

Never smoked, but quit dipping July 30. Well... Quit pouches anyway. I dipped a can every two days. Now I just do long cut. It's very strange., as addicted to pouches as I was, I have hardly any addiction at all to long cut. I might go through a can a month, if that. Usually one pinch a day, and some days no dip at all.

Tan, good luck. That's a big accomplishment.

Having smoked since I was 18 I to decided to quit last September. I used Zyban. Absolutely brilliant. You take one a day for the first six days and on the seventh day you stop smoking. After that you take one tablet twice a day. I had 50 tablets in total and I still have 40 left and haven't touched a cigarette since. Unfortunately I have this annoying thing with my throat now and am continuously clearing my throat. Something similar to having a frog in your throat but permanently.

The re-fills for the fresh cig are £8-99 and you get 5

each one equates they say to about 300 puffs

i did order a re-fill a month

so total spend under £2-50 a week as oppose to nearly £7-00 a day  :D

how fab's that????

Never smoked myself so no idea how hard it must have been for you, but can imagine

Congratulations on quitting, I quit December 2011 but started again :(

Will quit again soon but I find I can only do it one way, cold turkey with no aids. I just find that I need to convince myself that I don't want one.
