Yogurt?

Do you give yogurt to your dog? As part of her tummy recovery I've been mixing in a small amount (maybe a teaspoon) of plain, full-fat yogurt into her kibble once a day (she's back on her regular food now!) at the suggestion of the vet.

I've read conflicting things about it, so was curious about your opinions.

We've found that Dairy products tend to cause runny bums.

However if it is recommended by the vet then small amounts should be ok

We tried yogurt and string cheese with Balto (string cheese more for training since that is what most people used in our puppy classes) and yogurt because he was for a while having a difficult time eating his kibble (it was since diet at the time and that is why) so the vet suggested maybe a little bit of yogurt, well both made him throw up. Not sure why as all other dog seemed to be eating it just fine but Balto is a different story

It doesn't seem to be causing runs, but maybe it will once her stomach is back to having all its proper "flora". I like that it adds some extra calories since she lost so much weight and she was thin to begin with. Her ribs are still sticking out through her fur and it makes me feel like a bad puppy owner.

Some Huskies develop an Iron stomach and can eat almost anything.

Others a tiny bit extra of Kibble can cause the runs.

You learn and adapt to each dogs need.

When you have multiple pooches that can then be difficult finding a kibble that

gives solid poo for all the dogs and has good nutritional value.
