CARRINGTON
I do not have cable, Dish, etc. so I have to rely on my over 500 DVD collection to tie me over. Well Spring break is next week and I want something new to watch (old movies as well) that other people really like. So what is your favorite movie(s)? Elyse
Just saw Life of Pi, and it's a fantastic movie. What kind of movies do you like? Elyse
Oh and some more animal and animated movies: Two Brothers (tigers - mostly drama) The Fox and the Child (fox...mostly drama) Lassie (doggy - mostly drama...) Paulie (parrot - comedy/drama/adventure) Dr. Dolittle series (talking animals/comedy) Tangled (3d animation) Brave (3d animation) Hotel Transilvania (3D animation) Alpha and Omega (3D animation - "wolves"...hence the quotations as they don't act or even look like wolves!) IMDB.com (internet movie database) is an excellent place to look up reviews, synopses, and similar movies. I found most of my favourite movies through them - searching by keyword is awesome! Devildust76
I can almost recite these 5 line for line: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation The Crow Empire Records Mr. Mom Strange Brew National Lampoons Christmas Vacation is possibly one of the funniest films of all time. The bit with the squirrel makes me every time I see it. Can I also suggest these titles: Grease Jaws Friends with Benefits The Dark Knight Rises The Amazing Spiderman Avengers Assemble Star Wars (original trilogy) Spirited Away Avatar Sherlock Holmes Just to name a few. A bit comic book heavy but what can I say, I'm a comic nerd!!!

DuramaxDiesel
I like war movies too, but older wars. I especially like stuff about Vietnam or WW2. I'd suggest Band of Brothers, it's a 10 part mini series. Amazing. I love The Village, or anything by M. Nigh Shamalan (or however you spell his last name) my Hubby loves Law Abiding Citizen... and American History X

I especially like it because they used real names, interviewed any surviving veterans in Easy Company to get their input on things, etc. I didn't like The Pacific. I mean, it was good, but not as good as BoB. Didn't have the same sort of 'feel' to it, IMO

I have not but then again I am not a war person. The only movie that I have seen that is war movie that I really liked was Red Dawn and Act of Valor, other then that I am not sure I have seen one that I really liked. I liked Saving Private Ryan until the end when the guy they let go came back and killed some of the men, that made me so angry that I hated the rest of the movie.
