Chula
She is so skinny. She's full of energy (most of the time, caught her snoozing here) and is eating and drinking and pottying just fine...but I worry about her! She has her follow up with the vet tomorrow. Jay
Poor girl! Yeah she will get her weight back, it just takes time. My Yukon could stand to loose a few lbs tho!
Chula
About 3.5 weeks ago she weighed 17 pounds. When we took her to emergency vet for parvo test, she was 20 pounds, then when I picked her up from surgery she was back down to close to 17 pounds. Then because she couldn't eat much and had the runs, I'm sure she lost more the first couple of days at home. I'm scared to hear her weight tomorrow! Jay
The important thing is that she is improving, eating and drinking normally now. Even if she is skinny now she will gain the weight back
Stormy
She will regain the weight with time
Elyse
aw...poor baby. But the important thing is that she's eating and drinking again - she'll gain the weight back, don't worry!
CARRINGTON
Aww I feel for chula. Soon she will be back to her normal weight, just give it time. When we first got Balto he has kennel cough so he wasn't gaining any weight and looked tiny but now he is a chunk a monk
MidnightPaws
She'll gain weight it took Sophie forever to. You could always see her ribs and hip bones, now you can't really tell and it's taken a year.

Chula
I feel like an Italian grandmother or something I want to keep feeding her lasagna until she's a big squishy chunk. But I know that if I overfeed she'll just get sick. So we're sticking with her regular ~2.5 cups of BBW. The feeding guidelines say up to 3 cups for a puppy her age, but she was doing ok on 2.5 cups before the surgery. I've also been giving her a bit of yogurt and a bit of pumpkin mixed in with her food once a day to keep things moving in that tummy.
