husky3
My 11-wk old has developed some pinkish areas around his nose, and the lower part of his mouth (see attached images). Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Has anyone else seen this before? Thanks.
Andy
Looks like ZRD Zinc Deficiency. You can go to the vets or get a Zinc supplement from your local supermarket.
BingBlaze n Skyla
To me it just looks like loss of pigmentation but I'm no expert
mydiamond
seems normal in my eyes... I thought ZRD includes fur loss and "pinker than normal" skin color?

Elyse
Might be ZRD, although usually the skin is pink and crusty.. More info here: http://veterinarynews.dvm360.com/dvm/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=162405
Keeonah
At that age my pups all had pinkish bits in the same place. I kept an eye on it but it didn't get any worse and now has vanished altogether. There is always a possibility of ZRD but there should be dryness with it as well. I would just monitor it for now and if it does get worse consult your vet. Gary.

Jay
Yukon's nose used to be like that too, some pink mixed with black. Then all of the pink went away and his nose turned all black, now it is a brownish color
