HuskyGuerl
Is it ok to feed my dogs this? I work in a kitchen and they always send meat home for dogs with me but they tried to give me fish heads tonight. Is it ok? I know fish oil helps their coat but a raw fish head?? Mollys Dad
Ours happily eat whole fish so I don't see why not, unless someone knows otherwise?
Leyka&Diva
mine have always had the head on their fish so cant see why the head on its own would do any harm x
Elyse
Mine eats whole fish all the time - and he's fine. Every time he doesn't eat a certain part, but I couldn't tell you what it is - its so mangled afterwards..

Removed #5
In general fish should be safe ... remember that fish is what made up the diet for a lot of the Sibes "in the old days". Since you're in Mo, I wouldn't be to concerned about the fish - but if it is Salmon, I'd want to make sure I knew where it came from since there is a parasite that will poison dogs who eat it. flyingspanner
How lucky are you to get heads for free, I have to buy fresh Salmon heads from the fish market at £20 a box
jmscott
We freeze anything wild caught (Deer, fish, etc.) solid for about 2 weeks before feeding it to kill off most of the nasties. But other than that, fish are def on the menu in this household.
Andy
Darwin turns his nose up at fresh fish. Daughtry rubs her head in it then ignores it. Echo scoffs the lot.
Emma
If they like it then why not? As Al said, the primary natural source of food for a Siberian was fish so it's probably a good thing, particularly for huskies with zrd I would imagine. Unfortunately like Andy only one of my three will eat anything raw. The girls just turn their noses up and walk off.

Its just horrible to watch LMAO No it's not, I must admit though, it's better to listen to, especiallly when they crush the skull, and if you're really lucky you can hear the eyeballs pop.
