Issues With Dog Toys Made In China?

Recommended Posts

I purchased a whole bunch of rope based chew toys, squeaky balls, soft footballs, etc. and I noticed that they are all made in China. I know there have been issues with infant toys manufactured in China, and I guess I wouldn't buy certain toys/or be very cautious before buying them for my infant (I do not have one) if I knew the toys were made in China, however, are there issues with dog toys that are manufactured in China? Is this something to be concerned with OR am I just being paranoid?

Thanks.

I don't know. I haven't looked, but most of Suka's dog toys are, I'm assuming, are made in one of (and I'm going to sound awful) "those" countries. Being Vietnam, China, Venezuela  and other developing countries.

This is Suka's favourite toy, he's had it for years and has had no problems with it. It's pretty durable (though he isn't known to rip up toys in the first place...) and the best part: the squeakers are replaceable! So no more spending money on toys only to have them 'used' up (squeaker breaks, and mine doesn't play with it anymore) in a few minutes!

And, if your dog does rip it up, there is very limited stuffing. Mind you, there still is enough stuffing to make it seem 'semi-solid' (if that makes sense) and not floppy.

Actually, that's his only toy now. He doesn't play with his other ones (squeakers broke), so I donated them to the local shelter instead - they always love toy donations. :)
