BrianinVa
Jackson is 8 months old and 33lbs. His dad was 60 and mom was 45. Is he a runt?
mydiamond
I'd say it's too young to judge right now. Oh wait, how tall is Jackson? As long as his weight is compatible to his height and he looks healthy, I don't think how heavy he is matters (unless you want to show him that is)
BrianinVa
Id love to show.but dont know how to post pics.do i need full version?
mydiamond
click on "more reply options" and klik "choose files" below "attach files" if you want to show him you need to make sure he fulfills the breed standard... which you can find in the AKC's official website
jmscott
You should expect him to fully mature around 1.5 to 2. At 8 months hes still a baby. As for showing, who is he registered with? ie: UKC, CanKC

Erinc
At 8 months he is still a puppy, still has a lot of growing to do! He won't even still filling out till he is over a year old. If he is 33lbs now at 8 months, no reason why he wont reach 60lbs in 10months time. Anyway, his weight is irrelevant, as long as he is healthy, just enjoy him. BrianinVa
I know. And i do. Just curious. Thanks.
Mazz
Zoya was about that weight at 7-8 months. She's a tad over 60 lbs. now at almost 5 years. What are you feeding? If the food has a lot of corn, wheat, or soy, most of that will go bye-bye with little to no benefit. A grain-free food with quality ingredients will help with development and you should keep him on puppy food until he's about 1 year old. Removed #5
He's a good looking, lanky teen-ager! As the other have said, there's nothing to worry about unless you wanted a small dog!
BrianinVa
Thanks to all. Im new to the breed and we met another sibe at the dog park whos owner said he was full grown at 7months. Applebear
Too young to tell in my opinion...still lots of time to do some filling out. Ro was 44 pounds at 8 months, he's now 72.
Mobezilla
I feel ya, Yuki is 36 pounds at 8 months and I'm wondering if she will ever grow. Only time will tell, he's got plenty of time to grow
