jim_tinmois
It appears that the dangerous dogs act will now extend to private property. Whereas I can see why it has been brought in, I cannot help but think that this is also a charter for intruders to take legal action should they be bitten in the course of committing a robbery. Has anybody read the amendments fully ? Are there any conditions under which an owner would not be liable ? I know there are certain provisions in the original Act - for instance, If a person was to attack a dog with a stick or similar object, then the owner is not liable if the dog bites. However, there does seem to be some provision here . An intruder could always argue that he had been invited in etc, etc. That's how clever Lawyers get the scum off and the decent people prosecuted

There is a reference to what they call 'a householder case'
