Val (Zebedee) Posted June 7, 2013 Report Share Posted June 7, 2013 Aaarrrggghhhhhh! Sorry, had to let that out - my broken finger is killing me! It was broken over 10 weeks ago & was healing 'fine' until husky camp when I knocked it; now I can't straighten it or bend it fully and the fingers either side are suffering through lack of movement too. I finally got to see the doctor last week; she referred me back to the fracture clinic at hospital & also for another x-ray to see if she can see anything. But when she started talking tendon damage & possible operations, I switched off! I had my x-ray today and have to wait a week for the results to be sent to my docs. But in the meantime, I remembered the company I work for has private medical cover, so I contacted them & got my doctor to draft a letter to refer me privately. I have that appt next Wednesday. I keep plunging my hand in hot water to stop the pain I fractured the same finger on my other hand 28 years ago, that healed with no real issues but this is just horrible. If I find out that the problem is the ligament that came away with the bone fragment, I'll not be too happy as the triage nurse did that trying to pop my "dislocated" finger back in place (till x-ray showed the break!) One funny thing; I went to a different hospital for today's x-ray - the radiographer works at both hospitals & remembers x-raying me 10 weeks ago I am SO worth remembering! I just want my normal finger back I can't get my engagement ring on it, nor on the little finger, they are swollen so much. Andy Posted June 8, 2013 Report Share Posted June 8, 2013 Poor Val. I broke my third finger right hand a few years ago stopping Daughtry from escaping.
