CARRINGTON
Lately Balto does not want to go for walks unless it is early morning. It is in the 90's here and I think heat index is somewhere in the 100's. I take him to the mailbox which is about 150 feet from the house maybe a little less and by the time I get the mail he is pulling to get back in the house. If try walking him I take a water bottle with cold water but once we have been walking for maybe 5-10 minutes he is done and will just sit. When we take him in he goes to the tile floor and crashes. He walks early in the morning and loves it and does fine but after 10 or 11 when it really starts getting warm he won't go. Is this normal? Andy
Yes, he's a clever boy. While they love walkies, they have their own sense that it's just too hot. Better off in the cool. make up for the lost exercise when the weather changes.
Elyse
Yeah, sounds normal. He knows its too hot for him - I'd suggest walking him earlier in the morning, or during the evening when it cools off.
CARRINGTON
We walk him in the early morning and during the evenings he still refuses to go, but as soon as it is morning and not hot out he wants to walk for miles!!! As soon as it is hot he stops and sits and just looks at me like you can keep going I will just go home without you.
Jay
Yukon is lazy so I almost always have to force him to go for a walk...but the other two don't care how hot it is..but I keep the walks short when it's above 80 and try to stick to grassy areas. I sometimes wish Balto was lazy especially when I am the only one home and have 4 hours worth of homework to do for the next day and he is a ball of energy that gets into everything he can. mirage
Yeah barley is lazy too. He only wants to go out in the evening. Have to chase him around in the mornings as he prefers to rest on the floor or his bed. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
