Val (Zebedee)
Can someone explain the different types of collars that are available & what they are best used for? We hear of so many different types of collar, harness, leads etc that it must get confusing for new owners as to what is what Sid, can you perhaps give us a list of the different collars / harnesses / leads you make & what they are for? e.g H-back harness, semi-slip collar, etc and maybe best used for walking to heel, on a stake out line etc Anyone else have maybe a favourite collar / harness & why do you like it? Sid_Wolf
Ok here's the list of what I do: Side release: Simple clippy collar, good for tags but personally not one I'd recommend for a dog who pulls Flat collar: put it on the dog then tighten, no clips or buckles Semi-Slip: often used for sibes, tightens by approx 2" when you pull the main ring so it prevents escapes without choking Buckle: Simple belt buckle style collar, more secure than a clippy but still have a potential weak point, not as adjustable as ones with slide adjustment Half Check: similar to semi-slip but doesnt matter which side the dog walks on as it tightens centerally (if that makes sense!?) works in the same way as a semi-slip Martingale: all webbing half check Loadsafe: clippy collar but the clip is fed through the ring so when the dog pulls there isnt as much pressure put onto the clip, clip is also lockable Harnesses: Houdini: Walking harness which sits a couple inches behind the dogs front legs, harder to wriggle out of than shorter backed styles, padded neck and breast straps so only belly strap is adjustable, suitable for dog sports where there is a significant difference in height between the dogs back and the attachment point of the line Houdini Ultra: a Houdini harness with an additional belly band for super houdini's, no dog has escaped it yet! Walking harness only Neo Harness: easy on harness, no stepping in required, just slips over the dogs head and does up under the belly, neoprene padding is soft and waterproof, handle at the top. Walking harness only Adjustable harness: the only fully adjustable harness, so the best one for puppies, similar fit to the houdini but unpadded so walking harness only X-back: working harness Edited July 3, 2013 by Sid_Wolf

Like I was wanting it for when we walk the trail at the lake like we did this weekend. Dogs always dip in for a swim and it ruined one of their harnesses! So this would be ok right?
