Interesting - its also true that if you cross two breeds with a genetic predisposition to something, say cancer, than the offspring would have a much higher chance of developing that certain type of cancer because they now have 2 genes coding for it, instead of only one. :)

That was a very interesting read. Another reason why I want Gloria to be DNA tested. We were told by the rescue that she is a husky/shepherd mix, but I'm not sure. She has some traits and looks that make me think there's more. Such as collie and/or retriever. Plus, I'm a information sponge, I like to know everything lol. So not knowing exactly what she is kinda drives me nuts!

Tbh I wouldn't waste my money on the DNA testing, read on a showing group that a lady had her two pedigree cocker spaniels tested to see what they would suggest, one came back pomeramian and the other english bulldog I think, and there's sooo many other stories like that, I've read way more ridiculous suggestions than near accurate ones.
