My stupid computer has a virus or something. It will lock up and freeze about 5 minutes after turning it on. This sucks so bad! I got some AWESOME pictures of the girls playing in the backyard today. I had some really good action shots. :( bummer.

How old is it?

If you can take it to an Apple Care Center (an apple store, basically), they should be able to look at it and figure out what's wrong. Personally, I haven't had any problems with my Mac (and its 7 years old)...but I wish I could be of more help...

If it's a MAC, highly unlikely that a virus is involved. Not a MAC person, so beyond that, not much help.

Sorry no experience with Macs.

If it were a windows machine, Things I would be looking for

could be a ram stick is faulty.

Or processor overheating.

Powerpack on it's way out.

Throw it out of the window and get a normal PC :P

:-)

Lmao! That's totally how I feel.

Um, let's see... Its pretty old, my husband got it as a gift from his parents when we were still dating, a year or so before we married. So, 10 years?? Its a G2 or G3. In the technology world, I believe its considered ancient.

We are probably better off just scrapping it and buying a new one. Its time anyway. Just sucks that I won't be uploading anything for awhile. :(

Yep, nowadays you can get a pretty decent laptop for a much better price than the Mac laptops. :)

Mmmmm....Big Macs.... :P

If you're planning on buying another one (would recommend another Mac, BTW, would never buy another PC). Macs get the best of both worlds - you can put Windows on your Mac (bootcamp, totally legal), so you can run Windows programs on your Mac.

I have had my Macbook Pro for 7 years and have had (almost) no issues...those issues I've had have been very small and inexpensive to fix. I use it everyday, for the majority of the day. Granted, I did pay almost 3 grand for it, but I'm pretty sure it has paid for itself already. :)

I suspect this thing'll last me another 4 years, then it will be time to upgrade! I would have upgraded sooner, but IMO, I hate the new Macbook designs...the black keyboards are ugly in comparison to the older (2006 and older) models. So hopefully they'll fix that.

Besides, in my experience, Apple's OS isn't as fussy and as troublesome as Windows.
