Update On Petunia

Austinville

Recommended Posts

We're 12 weeks into our adventure with rescuing Petunia. She's changed and grown so much since she came to us. Ryn likes her, but is rather unappreciative of some of her antics (to be expected).

She's adapting well. She sits now before eating and we're working on slowing her eating down (she sometimes eats so fast she makes herself sick). She's very loving. NEVER howls though - it's more of a scream (and she winds it up like a fire siren!)

She has her daddy round her little paw - to the point of sleeping in the bed (which Ryn was never allowed to do!)

We've constructed a fenced in yard for the girls and just the other day they caught a rabbit. Very happy huskies - rather un-happy mama! (GROSS!)

Here are a few photos. The first as she was found in December, others when I got her and the last are the most recent.

She lives up to her nickname 'Looney Tunes'....she's a very silly girl

It's great when you get a Husky as a pup and get to watch it as it grows. But it is awesome when you take in a rescue and work to enjoy the rewards of an amazing transformation. What a special pair, Tunes and Ryn. Really looking forward to meeting Petunia at the Iowa Camp in September.

Thanks everyone........She's something else. Like others who've rescued, as you watch them change and grow in their new surroundings, you wonder how on earth they got to the position they were in. I will never know, but I do know that she will never have another day like those before she was found and entered the rescues that eventually healed her (physically and emotionally).

It's fun to watch her change as she becomes more settled in her life with us.
