Hi all

sorry to ask a question which has probably been asked loads of times but....

When we bring Koby home i want to crate train him,  (ive been reading loads of information ) but im torn between two sizes 42" and 48" As you are all more experienced than me, i was wondering what the most popular size is. :D

look forward to your help again

Jo

I've always been of the opinion of the more room they have the less, constrained they'll feel

the more comfortable and calmer they'll be.

Also it's better to get the better quality crate.

They can chew and break the flimsier ones, causing themselves injury.

More expensive but stronger.

This is the one I have (bit pricey but you're getting great quality)

Very strong and sturdy and plenty of room.

When we go to camp I can get all 3 of mine in there.

So for just one dog . . . ooooodles of room :)

I wholeheartedly agree with what Andy has said. You definately need the better quality crate. I've seen the cheaper versions reduced to scrap in less than a day. The bigger the better and be very careful introducing your husky to it. You need to make your dog feel that it wants to go into the crate not that it has to. Pressure a husky and it will retaliate and do the exact opposite to what you want it to and for all the wrong reasons.  All mine are crate trained and go in because they feel that it is their special place and that is where they need to be. Good luck with it.

We got it originally for Malaki a HUGE Malamute.

(sadly he didn't fit into our pack, a lovely boy but was fighting all the others and destroying everything in sight.)

and He had a really good go at destroying this crate and it stood up to him.

Nikko has a 48" crate and his measurements are 26" tall and 28" long

Yukons crate is 42" and he is 21 3/4" tall and 23 3/4 long

Kodi's crate is the airline style and I think it's too small for him but his is 34". Kodi is 27 1/4 tall and 28 1/2" long.
