Taste Of The Wild Feeders

Just curious how much you feed and the weights of your dog.

Cloud is 22 pounds and eat 1 cup a day, Yuki is 36 pounds and eats 2 cups a day, and Link I am still trying to find a good amount for. After I finally switched him off Pedigree, I got him down to 3 cups a day, but he's been on that a couple months and he's still skinny, he's not emaciated but he could put on some weight. I bumped him up to 4 cups a day and stools are still solid and he's doing fine on it, but it seems like so much food seeing as he's only 10 pounds heavier than Yuki and eating twice a much as her.

Anyway, regardless of what I feed and how much I really don't need any advice of switching food or adding anything extra, just curious as to how much YOU feed :)

Right now in the heat of summer where the dogs are more sedentary all of my Siberians (minus Mason and Denali) are on 2 cups daily.  Mason, who has a higher metabolism, and Denali who is putting on 'show' weight are on 3 cups per day.  My larger males (80lbs and 120lbs) are on 3 cups daily.  In fall/winter when we're actually running the team everyone gets bumped up to 3 cups to maintain conditioning.

Every day depends with Balto. He is about 45 pounds and he eats 3 cups if he eats both breakfast and dinner but right now he only wants dinner so he eat 1.5 cups, although we try to add more to his dinner when he doesn't eat breakfast anything of 1.5 cups he won't eat (he just eats the 1.5 cups and is done).

Yukon is 46lbs and he gets 2 cups per day.  Nikko is 53lbs and he gets 2 1/2 cups per day.  Kodiak is 58lbs and he gets 3 cups per day.

I used to give them all 2 cups per day each, but Kodiak needs to gain weight, and I felt Nikko could use a little extra too.

Trust me, you really don't want to know!!! We have to make at least 2 trips to Pets at Home a week to restock his food.

😃

The worse thing.... He's still a puppy!!!!!!

Hmm, this is what I was worried about. I figured 4 cups seemed a little much for him, however he is still very skinny and he is clear fecal wise (no worms). I may keep it at 4 cups for a couple more weeks and try to bring it back down to 3 cups a day once he's at an ideal weight. Thanks for the input, everyone!

I actually never knew how much I fed Kato until I measured it right now   and we feed him 4 cups a day. We feed him 2 cups in the morning and 2 cups at night. He usually doesn't like eating it all at once so he will eat it throughout the day. He has not been gaining weight he seems to be staying at a constant weight, around 55lbs.
