Feeling Proud :)

So today my 13 year old daughter Brooke began volunteer work with a bird of prey rescue centre :)

To say I'm proud of her is an understatement! Brooke has issues with socialising, but thankfully her obsession with owls has helped her overcome her fear of being the focus of questions from people she does not know.

She has been to a centre for disabled children to show the birds and took part in the flying demonstration. She has agreed to go on a weekly basis to help with the cleaning, feeding and flying of the birds and will go along to shows to help with demonstrations (for this she will even be paid!.....bonus) Brooke has been given the responsibility of caring for Bubbles the Barn Owl :D

The couple who run the organisation are fantastic and have taken Brooke of regardless of her problems, they are such laid back and friendly people I feel extremely lucky that Brooke has been given such a fantastic opportunity and look forward to seeing Brooke grow and develop in her role :D

That's awesome.

It's great that your daughter gets to do something she loves.

and it helps broaden her social skills too.
