mydiamond
I don't know what's wrong with my browser but I kept getting this "safari can't find the server" notification whenever I clicked a link okay, not exactly whenever, but most of the time I randomly get that gray "server not found" page! Funny thing is if I refresh the page several times (if I'm lucky) the page would open just fine so I know it's not the linked site. Sometimes when I'm not so lucky I'd have to wait a day or two. I don't know what's causing all this but it's so frequent now it ticked me off

BlueWolf
I assume you're on Windows. First thing I would do is to try different browsers (Chrome, or even just Internet Explorer) to see if they display the same error. If they don't: It's Safari. If they do: It's something else on your computer. Yesterday I solved a similar problem on someone else's computer. First I thought it was Chrome but noticed Internet Explorer had the same issue. After lots of searching I found that the cause was malware that tried to get between the browser and the server to modify the page (insert ads so they get money). Sometimes it failed, causing the browser to report the site is unavailable. Spent the entire day cleaning it

Jase
I use Safari - and have been doing so for around 12-15 years. I get that message on the odd occasion and it is usually due to a dip out or some interference with the wi-fi. Never does this last for more that a few seconds, but yeah, ya just switch airport off and on and it is all good or hit refresh. Failing this a restart never fails assuming the problem is not coming from your service provider. You can use Chrome or Firefox but I don't think that it is a browser issue. I only use Chrome for some University stuff where their interface didn't work well with Safari - but that was a completely different issue. BlueWolf
I'm on Macintosh... Oh gosh please don't tell me it's virus If you use a Mac you can pretty much discard the second paragraph from earlier. It's highly unlikely (but not impossible) for a Mac to get a virus. I'm curious whether other browsers (or programs you may use like chat programs, Skype, etc) have the same problem or if it's just limited to Safari?
