Second Husky Here We Come.

I posted on the forum that we were thinking about getting another puppy.  Now it arrives in a few days!!!  It's from the same breeder as our first dog Aura.   I'm a bit nervous about the dog flying here as opposed to driving but I'm sure it will be fine. It's only on the plane for 2 hours, then hubby can pick it up from a city 2 hours from our home.

Any tips for bringing a new puppy into our life?

When we introduced Solo we did it slowly, stayed with them and gave both a lot of fuss. Also let them figure out territory. We are lucky that they settled pretty quickly, Charlie did a lot of moaning and nipping, Solo is laid back and let him before lying on him when he'd had enough but all was fine within a week.

DON'T DO IT !  No only kidding,  we just got our second and whoever said two IS as easy as one was a dirty rotten liar !.  Anyway, what we did was take bear out and let them meet on neutral territory so to speak, then when we went indoors he went first, found the tips somewhere,  and so far so good.  ( he's 10 times her size but she bosses him around )

NOOOOO what have you done??? A second dog is only a beginning to a severe husky addiction you'd never EVER get rid of :( you'll soon be known as a "huskaholic"!!

But since you're already here... Welcome to the dark side :D congratulations and PICTURES please :D :D I don't have any advice to offer unfortunately... As you can see I only have one baby. But I'd like to remind you that these huskies play rough, and sometimes when a full-grown husky starts playing with a baby husky it can look scary. But they're just playing really...

Congratulations.  A couple of points.

Don't introduce the dogs inside the house.  Introduce them outside.  Keep a watchful eye, but let them interact with one another.  Maybe take them for a walk around the yard together, letting them check things out.  Let them get to know one another, then bring them into the house.  I would also feed them separately, to avoid any issues.  Good luck.  Make sure you post some pics.

Find somewhere they can run offlead first ideally just the two of them

Old tennis courts are good if the dog park is too busy.

Running around they can chase each other, sniff, romp and get to know each other.

Then take a nice long walk back home and introduce the new guy into the home.
