Hello all,

In the area of my home environment there is quite a large grass field and I used to take my dog to play there, of course, by using a leash. If I want to do the dog training exercises to run away and take things away place, is it okay to use a leash along approximately 50 meters in the exercise? In the field is often a lot of kids playing and sometimes cats are passing around it.

please advise me and thank you for your help...

Giving your Husky a long line to run around and exercise is fantastic and

Training especially for recall on a long leash is great however . . . .

There are two main problems with using a long leash .

1. they can and do get wrapped around things, park benches, poles, trees etc.

2. If you are using even say a 30 meter leash if your dog is 30 meters behind you and starts running fast

it runs past you going faster. The dog can be doing in excess of 30 miles per hour by the time it reaches the end of the leash.

Can you hold onto your end when the dog is travelling that fast ?

what damage may be done to you and the dogs neck if it is attached to a collar and not a harness.

Just additional information:

1. I use Harness attached on the dog

2. This exercise only for taking goods (ball, frisbee, etc), not more.

3. For jogging, I use normal leash and if faster run speed, I ride a bicycle
