brian brown
oh yes have just read that is it regional law that only allows you to have one dog? too bad... he's such a gorgeous dog. Such heavy mask stole my heart already xxxx No, my tenancy agreement states one dog, they know I have two, in fact I have FOUR pmsl My neighbours obviously know I have 4 but they've all said they don't bark or howl, don't cause the neighbours any grief so there's no problem
BIGBY
A gorgeous dog like that will have no problem finding a home. So kind of you to look after him for awhile
mydiamond
it also amazes me how such a gorgeous dog remains "unwanted" for such a long time I was about to foster (or adopt hee hee) this red male last year or so but he never made it to my home because once the news spread people came running offering him a home! took him 24 hours to find a forever home. brian brown
Here's a video of Zeph out on a walk the other day, testing him around my friend's dog-savvy kids & my friend's little dogs (also used to Huskies) He'd already had a walk around town & seen kids & other dogs, not interested in them other than wanting to hump other dogs so we knew he was 'safe' around them anyway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2o9wAob88s
brian brown
Just a quick update on Zeph, after chatting with Kathie yesterday, who has discussed it with the other rescue admin, it has been decided Zeph is staying here for a little while longer & having his plums off. He's booked in to have it done THIS Thursday 2nd Jan, got off the phone with them earlier It will give him a chance to recover & settle into a normal life before moving him to long term foster/forever home. brian brown
Great video, Great what you are doing for this pup. I do SO hope someone will give this pup a forever home soon .... Thanks, here's a couple more. First is from Sunday, out on a 5.2mile walk testing/training him commands. Taught him: walk-on to get him to walk, Straight-on - to stop him weaving so he walks in a straight line lol Hike - run, Whoa - slow/stop Learning left & right as he was following the girls lovely Likes to stop to mark/sniff but a quick tug of the lead & 'walk-on' & he's off in a straight line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9KxFgHRytk&feature=youtu.be Video of Deb brushing him today & feeling for knots in his coat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTjUEXXD1Wc&feature=youtu.be Took him to coastal path to see if he'd go in the river as he still ponged a little. Water would help loosen any matted hair etc, He smells much better now. Quick walk to dry him a bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCX-xYI2zTM&feature=youtu.be All in, I reckon he's made HUGE steps & I personally don't think he looks the same dog as I first pictured on here

brian brown
An update & some pics of Zeph now. He's getting better every day, he's been neutered & the wound has healed nicely as has his dew claw operation. He amazes me, his personality is starting to shine through. For the first time, on Thursday, I went home from work, they went out to 'loo' & when they came back in, Zeph collapsed on the floor, rolled on his side inviting me to belly rub him! NEVER done that before. He did the same thing last night but this time I managed to get pics He's been sleeping on my bed with me & the growling has stopped. I even managed to give him a bath the other night totally without incident, tied him to the bath handles but no growling, he let me He's been on several good long walks, both after work (in the dark) & today, Deb & her little dogs came, along with my friend Melissa & Phoenix (big white husky) I still get pains in my knee so Mel kindly took Kira on the way & swapped for Mishka on the return so I only had the collies loose & 2 Huskies on my belt to worry about Pics, what do you think? Can you see the improvement? Having cuddles on the bed a week ago 2 mile night walk, after work Not impressed after his bath More relaxed now, just lying in the middle of the pack Inviting me to give him a belly rub!! Deb with her little dogs & Melissa & Phoenix (& Kira) My Collies up ahead waiting for us all Zeph has a cheap tag, hand engraved with his name & my telephone number that can be thrown once he goes to his long term foster/forever home. However, as he IS a HEART Welfare dog, I got this made up for him, that can go with him This is Kira, a girl I private fostered christmas 2012. She went back to her owners & was up for rehoming a month later. She came back to stay with me forever She took Tango's 'stick' off him on yesterday's walk, Zeph couldn't stay out of shot

brian brown
I did a 700 mile round trip to drop Zeph off at his new foster - hopefully forever home yesterday Last Sunday I arranged a farewell walk for him which went well, despite the weather pics on this thread: I have to admit, I've cried like a girl tonight :cry1: Despite my own 4 being here, I miss Zeph so much I didn't realise how attached to a dog that isn't yours, you can actually get! Here's some pics: The first few are of Aya, another rescue dog I offered to transport back with us. Zeph's new fosterers - forever home Resident dog Saffi Zeph, Saffi & Aya Some pics of me & Zeph just before we left on the return trip

brian brown
Thanks Lee but at the moment I need to concentrate on my own. Deiffen had a flea allergy & started chewing his tail. I did wonder if having Zeph had stressed him too as he's 12 I may foster again in the future but for now, I'll be looking after my own & keeping the door open for Zeph Although I couldn't really keep him, I have told the rescue that if he doesn't settle, I will adopt him! Don't want him mucking about going from foster to foster. Hopefully, he'll settle, he seemed happy yesterday, however, being totally selfish, he's left a HUGE hole & part of me hopes it doesn't work out A couple of videos from yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSt7YKImE3A&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNDu69wksE4&feature=youtu.be
