Val (Zebedee)
Yesterday was a particularly bad day, as days go. Had a hectic day in work, hate rainy Mondays that follow rainy weekends (my job is weather dependant). Then I got home to find my old bearded dragoness had passed away. Finally, I get a frantic call from my son around 11pm, his car has caught fire at the side of the road and he's stood with the fire dept dousing the flames. The car is a write off, the whole engine was engulfed. He had to wait for the AA to come and load the car and bring it home. Fortunately, Grumpy said it hadn't burnt the tarmac underneath so at least we won't get a bill from the council - see, there is a silver lining if you look hard enough. :-/
stormchaser09
sounds like a bad day, but look on the bright side - your son is ok, the car can be replaced. Hope your week gets better.

Val (Zebedee)
If the council want to be funny, yes as they may have to retarmac to make flat again. Grumpy borrowed a brush off the police that attended to brush the debris off the carriageway too
