It's like 35+ degrees So today while she was drinking water i saw her diving her head into the bowl with water so i got an idea to take and spray her with water on all over her body. mydiamond Posted March 19, 2014 Report Share Posted March 19, 2014 Giving her a shower might not help much, but you can drip some water on a towel and put it in the freezer for a minute or two. There's a chance that her undercoat will get wet as well, and if I remember correctly, it's working in a way by holding air inside that helps with the temperature regulation. Once wet, the air is gone and it leaves the dog with wet fur that just slowly warms up. Markulous Posted March 20, 2014 Report Share Posted March 20, 2014 A light spray should cool your dog. In order to evaporate, the water will use heat from the dog = cooling the dog. Emma Posted March 20, 2014 Report Share Posted March 20, 2014 Dogs lose heat from their paws if I remember correctly, so standing in some cool water should be a good way to cool off in the summer months, it's why so many of us have doggy paddling pools.
