Any Tips?

Okay speaking with experience of seeing a husky needing a home & just bringing him home this is what I advise,

Make sure you have everything you need,

Cage, bed, toys, bones, food bowls, food and an enclosed garden or alternative ( a chain) ... Fences need to be HIGH they don't stay small long and can easily jump 8ft without a run up.

Make sure you know what food they're on & when they had their vaccs / worming so your prepared and know when it needs the boosters, (the old owners to ice left it so long I needed to do everything again) also save up some money to get them fixed :) it will make them calmer and a lot more lovelier, also make a schedule so that they have a routine and it will help with training e.g potty training :) just youtube gonetothesnowdogs they have LOADS of vids on how to train :) GL

He's gorgeous btw ! X

There is way too much to say  but here's my favorite advice:

EARPLUGS  puppies tend to cry on their first night home but do stick to your designated potty hours schedule and don't get to your pup before the alarm rings. If you have any problems/questions/anything really, we're here for you :) x

Thank you! Is there anything I can give him to calm him in his cage? Like food or a chew toy

Maybe. Depends on what you mean by "calm him". If your goal is to make him sleep through the night, usually these are the solutions:

1. A  dark-colored cover over the crate.

2. A ticking clock underneath the crate.

3. DAP diffuser. Google it :)

4. Old T-shirt of yours.

If your goal is to keep him entertained so he won't chew your 100$ high heels:

1. Get a Kong, fill it with PB and freeze it. Last two words: freeze it! :)

2. OK this is embarrassing but my brain suddenly stopped working  I'm sure there are other tips.. Especially from those with puppy experience. I've never owned a puppy..

don't forget to chip him in case her gets lost, then he can find his way back to you  :)

:welcomepack:  by the way, this forum has been invaluable since we bought Skye home, no question is too silly so ask away, we all have different experiences and advice so we're just one big happy family :pawprint:

My pup only cried the first night. After that it was perfect. Crate train. Cover the top of the crate with a blanket to simulate a cave like home. Buy a Kong soon for chewing. Freeze peanut butter inside and they will love you:) Begin a routine early of feeding and letting out for potty. Have fun.
