Andy Posted May 9, 2014 Report Share Posted May 9, 2014 Stoopid Dawg So all night long I can hear a neighbours dog barking randomly. Every 10 or 15 minutes a couple of short sharp barks. Just enough to keep me from getting into a proper solid sleep. So Alarm goes off at 04.00am time to get ready for work. Girls are on the landing outside my bedroom door, Go downstairs Darwin is not on the sofa (his usual place during the night) OK so maybe it was him barking, maybe he’s tripped over one of his WW1 trenches him and Daughtry have recreated in the back garden and hurt his leg or paw. Put on me Wellies grab a torch and trudge out into the pre-dawn darkness. Wet grass drags at me wellies, hmm gotta get the mower on the grass, getting a bit long. . . . . this weekend. . . . maybe. A Branch from the bush, hedge, triffid that’s growing up the side of the garage twats me upside the head, Grrrrrr, gonna get the chainsaw on you . . . . this weekend. . . . maybe. Shine the torch up the garden, there’s Darwin lying on the grass, he jumps up and runs to me a little woooo comes out as I give him nuggins. Nope nothing wrong with him just enjoying the cool early morning fresh air. OK time to get the morning routine under way, start trudging back . . . . when “Bark, Bark†right behind me WTF !!! Darwin is up against the fence front paws down, bum in the air tail wagging. I shine the torch down and there’s a hedgehog curled up against the fence.
