mydiamond
In order to prevent further hijacking in Ian's introduction thread, let's talk about different Husky colors and coat patterns over here #1: Dilute black ((Diamond is this color)) #2: Jet black (( One of my favorite colors. I think Paisley is one, though she's still growing )) #3: Dark gray #4: Lighter gray #5: Dark red; officially known as "copper" (( this is my ultimate favorite color )) #6: Orange red/ light red #7: Solid white #8: Piebald (( piebald is not a color, it's more of a pattern )) #9: Wolf grey (( they're often confused with the Agouti. Wolf grey is more of a grey-sable color, with a full mask )) #10: Agouti (( whereas Agouti is more of a black-grey-sable color, also with a full mask )) #11: Sable (( how can I forget them?? )) #12: Last but not least, the splash coat. They're basically a piebald with full coloration on the back, the white spot is only on their shoulder blades Hey this puppy looks like a black-and-white version of Megan's Lyon #13: Isabella White (cream) featuring Laura's Sasha
paisley&chad
oh my goodness.. I never realized how many husky colors there were [emoji15].. I think paisley is more of your pups color.. she's more of a grey on her sides. I'll see if I can find a picture. agouti is my dream dog [emoji7]
mydiamond
She's still growing it's too early to tell. If I deem her a dilute black today, she might as well make me sound like a total idiot when she grows up to be something else
paisley&chad
hahahah, yeah I feel you. but I thought maya was a wolf grey.. boy was I wrong. she was a dark grey, I guess? I don't know... I'm not good at this, obviously !
mydiamond
I'm not either these pups come in a huge variation of colors sometimes it gets confusing LOL there was once a newbie that came here asking what color is his pup. That was at least several months ago, and I still can't figure out what color is his pup
paisley&chad
oh my goodness, amen to that! I wanted another grey one soooo bad, but they're so hard to find around here hahaha, that's funny! I love it.. huskies change so much, too. I can't wait to see what paisley grows to look like.
paisley&chad
for example-
mydiamond
Aaand a member is currently caring for a litter with several grays in them. Doesn't it make you want to jump into the screen and steal the pups?
paisley&chad
you have no idea.. I think the greys are so majestic looking. I wanna breed paisley and chad sooo bad, because maya and chad were siblings. so he has grey in his bloodlines. but there's already sooo many dogs around here that need homes. I really probably shouldn't :,(
mydiamond
It's not really about how many dogs that need homes... I mean, of course it adds to the dog overpopulation problem, but the most direct cause of breeding is the pregnancy/delivery complication. I wouldn't risk it. It's just not worth it what if anything happens to Paisley or her pups?
paisley&chad
ehhh. that's a big problem around here. so many dogs. And I know the complications and everything arent ELIMINATED, but aren't they less likely for a big dog that's healthy and at a good age? I guess, it's just complicated for me. I've never loved a dog like I loved maya, and I miss her like crazy. I went through a bad depression when I lost her, and to get a pup that looks like her or acts like her would be a dream. I just miss her ?
mydiamond
Sorry to hear that unfortunately health and age does not guarantee an easy delivery. Anything could happen. What if the pup is breached (stuck on the birth canal)? What if the pup died inside, poisoning Mama Dog? loads and loads of possibilities and they're all not pretty. paisley&chad
I know, I know. I'm not saying it would ever be guaranteed to be 100% safe. but breeding a 3 year old healthy dog is a lot better than breeding a 10 year old, sickly dog. you know? I'm not saying I'm gonna breed them, at all. just a thought I had.. *sigh*
mydiamond
I do know you're not planning to breed. Just thought I'd say that since this thread is open to public and someone out there might be contemplating breeding. For the record; breeding is always risky no matter how old the bitch is. Though, indeed, the risk is greater when the bitch is not within the 2-5 year old age range.
paisley&chad
yeah, that's what I meant. *sigh*

Bambi92
Oh I missed this post I didn't know there were so many! Wonder what Sasha comes under them she isn't exactly white she's got black and a red sort of color on her back I'll have to find a close up of it
mydiamond
Somebody did a post like this a long time ago with even MORE colors on them. I'm sure there should be more varieties in the "solid white" group since a lot of whites have specks of red or gray on their back
paisley&chad
THERES MORE COLORS?!
mydiamond
Yes there are or Laura's Sasha would not fit in any category there's supposed to be a "white with red specks" and "white with gray specks" and a whole lot more

paisley&chad
oh my looooord. All I know is, I want an agouti still [emoji7] like bad
mydiamond
is there a "cream" color, or do I need my glasses? She looks like a sable cross solid white. Therefore, I'm proposing a new color group: CREAM!
Bambi92
That's what I was think but she has a line down her back Not the best pic
mydiamond
Yeah still looks cream to me but since whites come in all sorts of lines, specks and shades I think she's still classed as a white.
