robke
well if you walked for 3 hrs with an average of 4 km's per hour = 12 km's which is then about 7.5 miles...

Removed #5
I was going to say that I was surprised that none of the dogs laid down in it - then you said that Mia did! Looks like a great place to get out and hike around. Just being curious, newmillerdam - is there an old miller dam; is it 'millerdam' because there used to be (or is) a mill there or is it someones name? I do the same thing with place names here in the States ... "How'd they come up with that name?!"A Answering my own question from NaturalEngland: Once called Thurstonhaugh an old Norse name the area became known as New Mylle on Dam when a corn mill was built around 1285. The original mill was probably situated upstream near to the site of the Boathouse and was rebuilt several times during the period before 1633 when it was moved to the present location. The corn mill seen today on the A61 was built in the 1820s. You're walking in quite a bit of history there!!!
