Aliciajean1977
My new husky puppy Thor loves his water but when he is drinking he puts his face (1/2 way up his nose) compleatly in his dish and sort of blows bubbles. Is this normal for a husky i feel daft asking but my other dog (english bull) has never done this.

Jase
You can get no-spill water bowls if you want, or as you say just use a rubber mat or something. Thor will probably grow out of it soon anyway as did Ronin.

NOBELHOWLUC49
My Husky does this all the time. We take him to the beach and he runs with his mouth open scopping up the water, which is a worry as its sea water. He seems fine though. He also empties the water bowl with his paws so we have a big container outside filled with water so he can splash away to his hearts content. Aliciajean1977
Thanks everyone yes Thor really loves water its like he has lost something as he sits and looks then sticks his face in then uses his feet as though he is digging something out he is just a cute little character
sparrow63
Just be happy that he isn't "diggin" in the water bowl. Aurora used to do that when she was a puppy and we had to curb that habit as quickly as possible. Now she just sticks he whole snout into the bowl and drips water everywhere in the house! Pretty normal husky behavior though.
Jay
Nikko never did that, he would drink "normally" When I got Kodiak, it was a different story! He sticks his whole muzzle in the water bowl and I am left with a puddle of water all over the floor! I switched from a regular bowl to a big water dispenser that has a smaller area so it's not as bad.

paisley&chad
chad used to do it, but he grew out of it. he's 8 months old. paisley is still doing it at five months, but I have my fingers crossed she grows out of it, as well! I have a beach towel under their water bowl and have to change it out everyday.
