Perseid Meteors

For those of us in the northern hemisphere who tend to be late nigh owls the Perseids are back!

From one web site

The 2014 Perseid meteor shower will peak between August 10 and August 13. A waning Gibbous Moon (the Moon's phase after a full moon) may make it harder for observers to see the shower. Despite this, astronomers suggest that observers try their luck to catch some Perseids before dawn on August 11, 12 and 13.

Andy (I'm on the tablet, pain!!) I'm in your boat, we had a cold front come in and have solid cloud cover. With any luck, it'll get into the low 70's overnight.

Jay, they were bright enough last year that even NY could have seen them. I hope you have better viewing than either Andy or I do. The moon came up and promptly his it's face behind the clouds. I'm not seeing anything tonight .....
