Limber Or Timber Tail

Talaboo

Recommended Posts

I have searched for a subject on the forum such as this but have found none.

Tala got her own poo on her due to her running around like a loony in our back garden so I gave her a wash down with the hose, dried her and though nothing of it. 2 days later she started yelping sporadically and biting her bum. I took her to our useless vets and he diagnosed her with either fleas or sound sensitivity. Of course I googled his diagnosis and found out about timber/limber tail. Her tail was apparently paralysed temporarily due to me not drying the base. She looked like a hunting wolf without her curly tail!! Now all is well and I have my bouncy sibe back!

Weird!

I must admit I've never heard of this condition.

biting / nibbling at the base of the tail, yes, as the vet suggested could be fleas.

but paralysing the tail by not drying it sounds a bit spurious.

Glad it's all sorted though :)
