theboysmum
Kobi has itp and is currently in the small animal hospital on the wirral. The vet has just rang his platelet count has gone down to just four from 12 last night when they started his meds. Next 48 hours is critical. Has anyone eles had a dog with this itp and did they survive.
sarahjng
Don't know anything about itp so can't offer any help or advice, but wanted you to know I will say a little prayer for kobi, and you. I just looked it up, there's an itp support site, they have info on itp in dogs, apparently 85 -90% survive, lots more info there, I googled itp in dogs and it came up, good luck ! Mazz
We lost our Cairn Terrier to this. I don't think the vet at the time, knew what he was doing and did not treat the condition properly. Here is a link that may give you some info. http://www.justanswer.com/dog-health/4ysfx-please-tell-itp-dogs-treatment-prognosis.html

theboysmum
My beautiful extrodinary kobi is home!!!! His platelets are up to 139. We need to get to five hundred and he can start to be weaned of his 15 tablets a day. He is down about 60% in his eye sight but we can cope with that. He is now fast asleep full length on the patio, just where he should be. Thank god for insurance.
