zannabianca
Hello, I am writing this because I dunno if it's just me,but I really dislike when people touch iwark or take picture with him. Am I over reacting or you guys think the same as me?
loudlucky
Nooooo, I don't like it as well, unless they ask first, but still not too fond of it, you never know where those hands have been!
robke
If they ask no problem...they do not ask problem....
MollyCharly
I don't mind it as long as they ask first. What I really don't appreciate is dog owners who see me walking 2 enthusiastic dogs wanting to meet their dogs, and I slow down or stop to avoid the meeting at busy junction or high traffic area, and they still wont move on, or worse divert right to us making the dogs even more excited.. I love dogs meet and greet, it is good for socialising, but I prefer to do it in a safer way. Sometimes it really is ok to just say hi and bye, catch you next time.. :-/
NOBELHOWLUC49
Where we walk our dogs in St James Park its kind of a free for all. But then we know we are all there for the same reason. I have photos of some dogs from the park today and I have asked permission to photo them.. Road walking is different as you need to concentrate on safety so people should respect that. I've never had a photo taken unknowingly of my dogs but would not like it if it happened. Sometimes when taking photos at the park other dogs seem to appear as I take the photo.
Zanki
Someone was in a car outside my house the other day, just sitting in the middle of the road I'm guessing waiting for someone (our street is always packed with parked cars on either side because there are no driveways). I've got Shadow on the lead, she is being a typical excited husky, all alert and excited to walk. My boyfriend is locking up the house, we close the gate and there is a camera flash. Someone took a picture of us. I wasn't impressed, she could have just asked but no. I found it very rude. Other people. I don't like how some people offer Shadow treats because she is very naughty when they do it. I don't mind her getting treats, but they reinforce her bad behaviour. I also don't like random people running over to her. Yes she's a husky and she's friendly, but sometimes she just wants to be left alone. When that happens she ends up leaning against me and some people won't leave her alone even though I tell them she's had enough.
goingsolo
My 2 demand attention lol. I find most people ask if they can say hello especially kids. Its the dirty looks I get from other dog walkers I find most amusing asvits usually as im on my own with the 2 clearing up and they have to wait to pass as the boys get noisy as they want to walk. BingBlaze n Skyla
If people ask I don't mind but my girl can be nervous about being touched so I really hate when people just go to stroke her I wouldn't like people taking photos either
Guinnessman
Logan loves meeting everyone, most ask first but if Logan is doing his usual of laying in the way in a pub garden, then he is fair game. i stop children if they haven't asked. I never say no, but asking is important, not all big digs are as friendly as him.
Emma
Same as the others ask first. Bear's fine being stroked but ice doesn't like being grabbed by strangers. Mainly with men..,,,He likes to approach you first and sniff your hand.
Jay
It really doesn't bother me but it's just common courtesy to ask. Mine are all fine with being touched in fact are upset if people don't!
Elyse
I don't mind, as long as people ask first. I know he won't bite, but its just common courtesy to ask.
Markulous
I prefer people to ask - but only because for all they know the dogs could be a problem (they aren't, they love people) and asking first is always sensible Taking photos? Don't care - and obviously if I'm in a public place they can do so. It's nice to be asked but I certainly don't regard it as essential
zannabianca
About kids, he was literally terrorized by a small cute little girl of 3 years old, I dunno why .She was touching him very gentle, but he was very afraid of her. And I was all over Iwark mouth because i was terrified he could bite her.
mydiamond
Like most other responses, I don't mind if they ask. But since my boy has a history of abuse and can still freak out sometimes, I also expect people to let me revoke the permission I've given if Dime suddenly has one of those "freak out" moments. It's annoying how people assume they have a "year-round pass" sometimes. Some months ago my maid casually informed me that one of our neighbors have been feeding Dime treats. She (my maid) let her (my neighbor) do that because she's an old lady and she's just being nice. I told my maid to never let anyone feed Dime ever again. I don't care what's their intention, no means no! I did let this neighbor pet my dog a lot, but it does not mean she can cross the line and feed my boy behind my back. She's not the one cleaning up his diarrhea after all!
Mobezilla
I don't mind at all when they ask - my boys are superrrr friendly and LOVE attention from strangers! But the lady who tried to take Lyon out of his crate when I was at a pet event yesterday, and then tried to take Link's leash from me because she wanted to walk him around? Yeah no. I did not like that.
Val (Zebedee)
We've always let people come say hello to the dogs & 99% of the time, we do get asked so I make the dogs sit. One of our current fosters is quite skittish if approached but if she can go to them & have a sniff, she seems OK then. If a child comes over & asks, we always say "If it's OK with your Mum / Dad" or whoever they are with but don't mind at all. As for photo's, feel free. If they're taken without my knowledge, there's not a lot I can do about it, I am out in a public place but we do get asked a lot if they can have a pic and I will thank them for asking
Stephanie Gonzalez
I have never had the problem with taking pictures of them since i havent noticed anyone with cameras flashing at them but i dont rlly think i would mind. But for the touching, as long as they ask me first im fine with my pups being touched. For the most part its the little kids in my neighborhood that love to pet them whenever i walk them[emoji4] Shadow is ok with it, Winter on the other hand gets rlly nervous but thats the main reason i let the little kids pet them, so my pups can get used to people and socialize them more. Plus the kids around here are so polite, they dont come running towards my pups or anything and they ask before they pet. Rachael_Astro
If they ask first it's not a problem. But I am trying to train him not to jump at people and it annoys me when they continue to stroke him if he does jump up, even when I ask them not to! Clare70
I would prefer people to ask, that way I can get the dogs to sit as they will most likely want to jump up. Harry and Snow are super friendly and would never bite but they may scratch or knock someone over as they get over excited. So far Maiya has been good with people but we've only had her a couple of months and I still don't 'really' know her. She has just started barking when someone comes to the door and this morning when we were on our morning walk a man approached us from behind. We stopped to let him pass and he stopped to admire the dogs, then Maiya started to bark and the fur on her back stood up. I think she was being a little protective and she's a Malamute not a husky, so not sure how protective they are. Snow and Harry just cried and wanted to be friends As for pictures, I'd rather they didn't but never had it happen to me, we live too far in the sticks
Diablo
My little dogs are INCREDIBLY social and sometimes it's more of a case that I should be asking if they mind being brutally attacked with love my 2 small furballs! However my Husky I do not like people coming up to without permission. Mainly because he is nervous of people and when he hears that "OOOOOOOO EEEEEEE look a wolf" rubbish that people squeal at him in a high pitched tone he really panics. Even the girls at home...on Sunday the one came up and grabbed him from behind and he let out a scream that terrified even me. he has never shown any signs of biting but who knows, a dog caught off guard and fearful could snap. I had to give her a firm talking to about personal space even though he is a dog. Then the other daughter was trying to force him to be with her and had a leash in her hand and clipped him on while I was in the kitchen and I heard her say "you can't escape now can you" so I ran through to find him almost strangling himself backing away from her and she was pulling him and I just lost it!!! I have made it very clear. If you want to play with him let him come to you and ONLY when I am home. But even the little ones can be a problem. My female tends to climb onto your shoulders and this silly girl at home wasn't holding her and dropped her. So yes I now have an issue - if you want to touch the dog ask me and let him come to you. If I say no he is scared leave him alone. I am trying to socialize him but it's almost impossible when people can't take no for an answer. Chula
I have found in my neck of the woods that children are way better about asking than adults are. I do not mind if people pet Chula, but I do want them to ask, and I do want to make sure she "sits" before being touched and that I am close enough to her to yank her back if for some reason she got the idea that jumping up would be a good idea. I am not worried about her hurting someone, I am worried about some person being a jerk and getting litigious because their kid got a scratch from Chula trying to lick their hand and the kid pulls away and scrapes their hand on her tooth. It's the same reason I will take her out of a dog park or enclosed area if there are any children present. It's just not worth risking her jumping and inadvertently hurting someone and getting in trouble.
Andy
No one can get within 10 feet of mine before Echo goes off. People keep a safe distance. I can hold Echo back and let Darwin and Daughtry get their people fix if the Hoomans are brave enough to get close.
sangrealex
I love when people come to my dogs and they want to touch them. I think it's very good for them to get used to interact with all people. Otherwise they won't socialise with other people or dogs. As for pictures, if somebody take a photo of my huskies i feel proud of them, beacause it means that he likes them so much.
