HuskyLucy
we wash ours about once every 2 years LOL and yes they get dirty but clean themselves only when mud sticks we wash/ shower... walking I think you are seriously over doing it at this moment there is a 5 min per month rule..but there are peeps who have had pups can tell you about this much better... Even after these walks she is still full of energy as well. Even playing tug of war etc. Its a 1.5m walk to the vets and 1.5m back alone which ive been doing a lot recently for socialising with other pups and her injections i was carrying her before she got her vaccine however its not possible to carry her 1.5m when she wants to run anymore
Jase
Walking your pup won't tire her out. Training and using their brains exhaust them. Feeding in a kong or treat ball makes them work for their food and this also tires them out. But training training training is your best bet for a tired husky and happy owner
HuskyLucy
What food do you guys put in a kong? Anything good you recommend? I cant put origen food in there as it just falls out its small circular pieces
robke
I use tinned tuna on water, then freeze it, takes mine a long time to get it all out then..I do plug the ends with peanut butter..
HuskyLucy
I will try out the kong, the thing is i dont take her on this many walks because i want to tire her out. I take her because i am going places anyway and the vet said lots of walking wont hurt. If i dont take her shes gonna be home alone. I want her to have company as much as possible. Dont like the idea of leaving her alone. if someone can advise me on what to do in regards to how much walking and what complications it could have it would be great
Natalie Blade & Storm
Walking your pup too much can affect the growth & lead to problems later on in life such as arthritis etc I never walked my pups for such a long time at such a young age but was also advised by my vet that it shouldn't be done, how ever she is your pup so I am not telling you what to do just advising what I was told [emoji4] she is a very beautiful little lady so congratulations & I'm sure you will have lots & lots of fun with her [emoji4]
robke
somebody will correct me no doubt but I believe it is 5 mins walk per month of age, now that is not total daily but per walk you can do this many times a day...
HuskyLucy
I never walk her more than 1.5 at a time btw it's 1.5 to vet and 1.5 back we stay for an hour for puppy class and other times I take her out it has a pit stop
HuskyLucy
i know that still adds up to about 22 minutes per walk instead of 15 though =/ just went to the local store and bought her a kong and i turned her normal food (origen large breed) into mush using a blender then mixed in thick peanut butter and stuffed it in the kong, ive just froze it, lets see how she gets on with it in 30 mins
