Bambi92
I know there's a topic somewhere about ice cubes for them but I can't find it and I tried to search for it but nothing came up With the temp meant to be 37! Degrees today I wanted to make them big ice cubes but should I just put water or should I put some sort of flavour in it? They played with normal ice cubes yesterday they had fun with them I've made them one with no flavour what can I put in it? So they don't get bored of it... Thanks in advance! I wonder if I cut up a dentastick if that'll work sasha LOVES her dentasticks and the other ones that Dozer likes have a smell to them might try that. Would a bit of beef or chicken stock work? Don't know if they can have that? Lol
Emma
I don't see why not? Tbh I didn't add any flavouring and they were happy enough just trying to get the treats out of the ice. They seemed to view it as a challenge, lol.

Jase
Hi Laura, Make sure you don't use the store bought stocks as they have heaps of salt added, making your own is the best

Just get a bunch of chicken frames or beef bones from the butcher, add around 2 litres of water and simmer for a couple of hours, when cool, scoop off the fat that will have formed on the top. You can add things like celery, carrots etc into the pot when boiling the meat and bones. It is very easy

Jase
You can chuck in a teaspoon of turmeric if you wish, it will make the stock go bright yellow but has lots of great health properties, even a clove or two of garlic in the stock will actually be good for your dogs and not harmful like it is when whole or raw in large quantities. Obviously you will strain out the stock before using
Bambi92
Thanks for the ideas I think I've asked you before but I can't remember lol is tumeric spicy? I'll give it a go tomorrow or Sunday
Jase
It is a spice, but it is not hot spicy, most dogs love it even in powdered form, so some in a stock will be very yummy I love making stock, it is mad scientist time. I basically make up the same for hoomans in the family but add salt and pepper in and leave out the turmeric so I can make up a lot to use in different types of dishes. If you have a fish monger local, you can buy fish heads and bone to make a seafood one, either for the doggies or for hoomans
Bambi92
Thought so... I don't cook a lot of funky dishes I don't know how to lol I've attempted a few things like chicken and mushroom risotto that was nice but I should of used a bit less wine kind of made everyone that ate it tipsy haha I haven't really attempted much else other then like chicken pasta bake and tuna pasta bake.. I'd love to learn to cook properly I love cooking don't have enough space in the kitchen to prepare anything though
MollyCharly
I used dog cookies too but I find it become a bit soggy as half submerge in the water before it freeze. I like to use fruit like banana or apple, or carrot slice, it is cheap and easy and doesn't involve too much of cleaning too :-)
qweasd
Sky has never got bored with plain ice cubes - he loves chasing them round on the tiled floor. You can use cooked bones (e.g. from a roast chicken) to make stock.
evu1985
I really like the ice cubes with carrots/apple bits can you give them to 9 weeks old puppy though ?
