Just Got Threatened With A £75 Fine

So we were in the park with the girls, it was totally empty so they were off lead and racing round at top speed getting rid of some of their energy (it's totally fenced in so they were safe), they had their pink LED's flashing so we know where they are at all times when up marches the park warden (and his side kick) and threatens us with a £75 fine if we don't get our dogs on leads and leave the park.

Obviously I get on the defensive straight away and declare there's no signs that say we can't be there and that shouldn't they be spending more time preventing the the kids from plastering obscenities all over the bandstand and breaking the gates than worrying about me and my well behaved dogs??? It did me no good other than being threatened again with the fine.

Mitch was far too quiet so I knew he was fuming, he called the girls and to their credit they came to him straight away and he put them on their leads. The wardens didn't trust us to leave on our own and escorted us all the way out of the park, Mitch was so quiet that I can hear his blood boiling....

We grumbled all the way home and my local councillor is now the lucky recipient of an email from me requesting more time be put into controlling vandalism in the park than harassing good dog owners who just want to exercise their pooches, oh and by the way please can you get me a dog park so I run my dogs safely!

That's mad!  If it's an onlead only park then surely there must be some signs somewhere?  Is it listed on your local councils website as an onlead only park?  If not I'd put in a complaint, sounds like a bit of a jobsworth to me.

I bet it was old dog warden showing off to new dog warden…. I f the park has signs saying all dogs must be on leash then on leash they are… i hope you email gets him a good kick up the proverbial back side…

well done for holding on to your cool and well done woofs coming back so well.

and any way should they not be spending there time looking for dogs in trouble with no owners taking care of them. ohhh this sort of thing makes me so cross.  did you ask for his name????

Quite right to!

And no I didn't get his name, funnily enough though I literally just thought that I wish I had

I think Kati's getting ready to go track him down and give him a good talking to, lol.  :D

Well done to Mitch for keeping his temper in check.  I doubt Paul would have, he usually shoots heavily sarcastic comments at people with a few expletives thrown in for good measure, lol.

Perhaps we should arrange a meet in the park and let all the huskies off lol

we've got Phil with his van, Kati, myself...I'd say that task force is getting bigger by the minute, lol.

Oh yes, you always know there's trouble brewing when they go quiet!  Usually my cue to get very busy suddenly in every room other than the one he's in....mainly as I'm usually the reason he gets angry in the first place.  :redface1:

That's positive.... Keep calm be factual.  and hopefully Mr Macho Dog warden will get a good kick up the A--e...... and be a lot more respectful next time, if ever your paths should unhappily meet.

Emma and rest of task force "Dog Warden" we need to hold fire till we hear the result of this meeting. :D
