SnowDogLove
Oh no, we've made our peace with it and Cody keeps his tag on his keychain still which is terribly sweet. It's true, dogs always hold a special place in your heart.
mydiamond
I end up using 'Tala' as a pseudonym for a student I worked with in my final paper :O
SnowDogLove
Neat! What was the paper about?
mydiamond
My experience working as a teaching assistant in a kindergarten class basically an eight-page long ramble about how much fun I had. One little girl I worked with got the honor to be "named" Tala
SnowDogLove
Oh that's cute! [emoji4] Is that what you're school for? Teaching?

SnowDogLove
Wow, awesome! Are you planning on teaching in Michigan?
mydiamond
Yep they made me decide that from day one. The academic adviser goes: "You guys want to be in the urban program or the global program?". Everyone wants to be in the global program, so they can bring their degree back to their home country. I look around and go, "Is everyone in global? Then I'll take urban!". No backing off now
SnowDogLove
What are you wanting to teach?
mydiamond
My focus is Language-Arts too bad you don't learn Geography in elementary school because that one's really my thing
SnowDogLove
Wanting to teach grade school? Like K-5?
mydiamond
Major description says K-6 but I prefer to stay with the younger kids in first or second grade. Maybe even pre-K now that I've been placed in a kindergarten classroom
SnowDogLove
I sub assisted for a 1st grade class and it was pretty fun, aside from the occasional tantrums. [emoji28] They're so easy to make friends with when they're that little. [emoji2]
mydiamond
My only issue is that I find it very hard to yell at the kids but I have to be stern or else all hell breaks loose. *sigh*
SnowDogLove
Yes! Me too! I got better at it the more I got to know them and realized why they were doing what they were doing. But I hated following the rules we had, like they couldn't talk during lunch so I would always have to tell them to quit talking but I thought the rule was stupid. SnowDogLove
Since I have named all of our dogs, I let Cody have the final say on what to name our new puppy. And he chose.....drum roll please....... Leloo! Introducing Miss Leloo, only 3 weeks from her new home!

Ohio4husky
Has anyone suggested Ursa? (As in ursa major/ursa minor). Referring to the bear star constellations?

SnowDogLove
Has anyone suggested Ursa? (As in ursa major/ursa minor). Referring to the bear star constellations? Yes I did actually! I came across that whilst looking for names. Saying it out loud I didn't know how I felt about it, and Cody didn't like it anyway. But yes, she finally has a name now, and she will be coming home in about a week and a half!
