Agony Aunt

I was just thinking that we should have a thread were people can go if they are feeling low or need "a hug" as it may be were they can post normally or anonymously.

I have spoken to Sarah about it and she said that if you wanted to post anonymously then you could email her and she will post it for you obviously not using any names or anything that may give it away as to who it is. Also I want to remind everyone that all emails will be deleted once posted so there is no way of anyone tracing it back to you.

We want this to be a forum who looks after the owners as well as the breed because we all know a happy owner is a happy dog.

Post your thoughts on this with any suggestions you may have in regards to the thread.

Had an email from a member on here who has asked to remain anonymous, who wanted me to post the following.

"i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can keep my nerves/aggression to a minimum when I go to see a shrink. I haven't been given an appoinment yet but I am waiting for one but it took me a year or more to go to the Drs so I could be forwarded to one. I can't remeber if it was a phychiartrist or a phsychologist but it was one of them (ive been put ahead to one which can prescribe medication).

The lst time I was seen by either a phychologist or phsychiartrist I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar."

I get nervous and i am very hot headed the best result i have found with nerves is to breath deeply for as long as it takes and face my fear head on. As for anger i do a similar thing i shut my eyes and take deep breaths for as long as it takes to start feeling the anger drain out of me.

I think the first step in controlling your anger is knowing what angers you or set you off. Anger is an internal thing--meaning that we choose to be angry or not. That's the reason why one person can laugh at something, while another person will go into a fit of rage over the same thing.

We all have anger triggers--those certain buttons in us that set off our anger. Knowing what yours are might help you in knowing exactly how to control your anger. I've always had a problem with anger--still do, but I've since learned what triggers my anger and I can proactively avoid or reduce those triggers before those buttons get pushed in me.

Also, stress might be a factor. When you are stressed, your frustration tolerance goes way down. The result of that is that you start collecting more and more anger buttons as your stress level goes up, so the likelihood of any one of those buttons getting pushed goes up as well.

Sorry, I don't know your situation too well, but my general suggestion is to identify those very specific things or event that trigger your anger and write them down. Also analyse your level of stress throughout the day and find ways of either avoiding stressful situations or reducing the amount of stress that you have.

I know it's not much but I Hope that helps and I hope you feel better soon.

If all else fails there is a hypnotist who i think specialises in nerves and anger i have put the website below

Last night I felt terrible. Im finding that everything I usually enjoy (Walking dogs, making cards) are become less enjoyable. Last night I took the dogs for a walk and when I usually feel calm, relaxed and happy when I take them out I felt angry and didn'y enjoy it! Then when I got home I was feeling suicidal.

I'm not being myself at all, Ive never felt suicidal before and I nearly self harmed and probably would have done if it wasn't the fact that my partner found me and stopped me.

I don't know why I didn't enjoy the walk and it's not good as I can't put my mind into a positive state for my dogs.

I tried to find what makes me angry and aggressive and can't place it at all."

pulled my groin playing golf any advice aunty ?

The best remedy is rest take a couple of days of bed rest, and avoid straining the muscle at all for at least a few weeks. After that, you can gradually resume normal activities. Meanwhile, after the first few days you can perform a few mild stretching exercises. Do not push yourself beyond the point at which it begins to hurt. Remember that muscle injuries take a long time to heal.

people think my dog is gay what can i do?

He is only a pup he is just finding his bearings just tell them that them calling your dog gay is like calling a 7 year old gay they don't know their sexuality at that age. They are probably just saying it to try and upset you there are very weird people in this world who pick on other people to make themselves feel better. And another thing how the heck do they know that your dog is gay are they a dog sexuality expert? Another reason they could be saying this is because they are jealous and want a husky themselves but can't afford one!

I would just ignore them they don't know what they are talking about. He is still the same dog that you and your family fell in love with and he always will be it doesn't matter what other people say.
