Melli776
i read that sometimes in the litter a wooly puppy might happen i relli like the way they look and feel. I have met quite a few here in florida. I even know that there is a breeder that only breeds wooly huskies. she is relli adorable.

IanSMagill
Just been looking at Skyla on your FB, she is well cute like a little polar bear lol......I think Maya is one of these wool coated huskies, her coat is really soft and fluffy and so thick, totally different feel to Simba's and don't get me started on her tail, its like a whole other animal attached to her lol We often joke about her coulottes being the mass of fur she has from her hindquarters down her back legs although she gets stuff stuck in them all the time bless her. rigrunner
http://www.husky-owners.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=4611 The middle dog in the picture is a woolie. I don't think the OP's dog is, she just looks as if it is puppy coat, often once they have their first shed their coat is different - how old is she? Here is a link to woolies http://www.huskycolors.com/wooly.html The name is sort of a misnomer as really they are longcoats, however as the long outerguard hairs don't do their job properly (why woolies should never be bred ) the undercoat tends to be denser and woolier. Puppy longcoats can usually be spotted by the fringing on the ears and tail
BingBlaze n Skyla
shes 4 months old - when blaze was the same age his fur was nothing like hers
rigrunner
shes 4 months old - when blaze was the same age his fur was nothing like hers No I would say she is close coated, so very short outer hairs and very dense undercoat - can look very plush if kept nicely when older (or can look like old vet bed ) The blaze has longer guard hairs and less undercoat - both are correct coats, just different. IanSMagill
Thanks Rigrunner, I always wondered about Maya as she was so different to Simba and now Storm but at least I know now she is a special kind of Sibe bless her, after looking at the link you posted I can see straight away she is a wooly
