Lil Miss Bump
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/family/pets/7538391/Great-grandmother-given-an-electronic-tag-and-curfew-for-selling-a-goldfish-to-a-14-year-old.html ok so this seems like it's all pretty self explanatory however....................... what is misleading is the lack of background............ she also sold animals to other underage people who used them as bait for dog fiting etc she also sold animals to people convicted of animal abuse when her shop was investigated she was found to have a bird in distress with a broken leg on show in the shop.... taz291819
Out of curiosity, why is there a law forbidding the sale of goldfish to persons under the age of 16?

SarahNukka&Shadow
Out of curiosity, why is there a law forbidding the sale of goldfish to persons under the age of 16? The law forbids the sale of any animal to anyone who is or apears to be under 16 because they are not considered to be an adult and therefore canot be responcible for an animal, if a parent buys a pet for their child under 16 then they are legally responcible for that animal. In the article they also said that the local faye has goldfish as prizes for hook a duck this is also illegal, its illegal to have any living creature as a prize. However I personally would have procecuted her for the goldfish alone! Even without the other allegation.. people dont seem to realise that small creatures like goldfish and hamsters and such are living things that deserve as much respect as any other life! Dont even get me started on goldfish bowls! They should be made illegal too, if their not already! gggrrrr! Hateful woman!
