Chewbacca_&_me
Phoenix is a very pretty name but be careful its not too much of a change, lol, otherwise she may not respond to it. Then again I have had chewy respond to "hey you come here" quite a few times, so I think anything is possible, hahahaha.

Smokey
i love the name/nicknames. when i first got Smokey i didn't like his name and wanted to change it but he responded to it so i kept it. don't you think it's hard to get a dog used to another name? just a thought. but i guess retraining a dog to respond to a new name isn't too difficult with treats and food. i still think Koda is a wonderful name. that's why so many people use it! Kells xx
echo got used to her new name really quickly. we wanted her to have a new start from her old, abusive life. we just want to be able to call our dog without 10 more running towards us!!!! so phoenix or foeeny poo poo snickerbum

Lyn
We changed the names of two of our rehomes on the 'new name, new start' basis: Ruby became Amber and Roxy became Dixie. The other two rehomes (Spyrit and Maurice) are older boys and both had good lives in their previous homes and were rehomed as both have worked all their lives, their kennels gave up working and wanted the to go to new working homes, so we saw no reason to change their names Strange though, we give our dogs names, but most go by and answer to nicknames and rarely use their 'given' names: Ali: Scooby Mishka: Squish Demon (registered as Dancing Demon) : D.D Echo: gaffer or Atilla (The boss girl! rules with a rod of iron) Hush: Slushamabottom (My daughters doing lol!) Amber: Ginge Turbo: lil' man (don't know what he'll be when we have a younger boy?) Jude: puppa (even though she's 16 months old now) Maurice: Mo Spyrit: old man Nuka: freaky dog Nova: Lady muck Rain: Rooroo Dixie: Dicky-doo Xanadu: luggers
